SPOT 01 Zao Okama

Zao Mountain, located on the border between Miyagi and Yamagata prefectures, is one of Japan's most famous mountains. Zao Okama, a crater lake surrounded by three mountains, Katta Peak, Kumano Peak, and Goshiki Peak, is a symbol of Zao along with the frost-covered trees. Named for its cauldron-like shape and known as "Goshiki-numa" (Five-Color Pond) due to its color changes under the sunlight, it enchants viewers with its various appearances. The area is about 1 km in circumference, with a diameter of about 325 m and a maximum depth of 27.6 m. Its acidic water does not support aquatic life.
During the winter, the area is closed to traffic, but this tour offers a helicopter ride to view the winter Okama from above.

SPOT 02 Zao Frost-covered Trees

The mystical formations created by ice and snow crystallizing on the beautiful branches of the Aomori fir trees can only be observed in limited areas of Japan. These fine details, resembling the tail of a shrimp, grow into a grand shape.
Zao Mountain is a series of peaks located in the southern parts of both Miyagi and Yamagata Prefectures. Frost-covered trees can be viewed from both sides, with Yamagata's side featuring "feminine, rounded frost-covered trees" and Miyagi's side presenting "rough, masculine frost-covered trees."
The artistic beauty formed by snow and ice serves as a winter symbol of Zao, offering a luxurious moment to experience the beautiful poetry spun by nature's grandeur.

A tour to explore Zao Okama, which is inaccessible during winter, and the Zao Mountain's frost-covered trees, one of Japan's three major frost-covered trees, from above in a helicopter.

Experience Flow	Arrival Please gather 30 minutes before the takeoff time. ↓ Boarding Briefing The pilot will provide flight and course information at the local heliport. ↓ Flight Start Board the helicopter escorted by the pilot. ↓ Flight You can converse with your companions and the pilot using the headset inside the helicopter. ↓ Flight Ends The total duration is approximately 80 minutes (30 minutes of briefing + 45 to 50 minutes of flight). Flight time may vary by 5 to 10 minutes depending on the weather and conditions on the day.

Other Notes	Boarding may be refused to those who are intoxicated, under the influence of illegal drugs, recognized as part of anti-social groups, or suspected of such affiliations. Carrying dangerous items such as knives and lighters is prohibited. Eating inside the helicopter is not allowed. (Drinks and anti-sickness candies are permitted) The tour may not be conducted due to weather conditions. A maximum of 6 people can board per flight.
